Day 12 and Thai Chicken Patties is what’s for dinner!!

Yes chicken can be boring. Yes chicken can be bland. But this recipe takes your ordinary chicken to the next level as it offers spice and brightness to your typical chicken burger.

Serves: 4
Ingredients:
1 pound ground chicken (dark meat preferred)
3 cloves garlic (minced)
2/3 cup cilantro (chopped)
2 shallots (minced)
1 teaspoon red chili (minced)
1 tbsp fresh ginger (minced)
2 Tbsp coconut aminos
2 Tbsp lime juice
1 egg (beaten)
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
2 tbsp grapeseed OR canola oil

Thoroughly mix ground chicken with the first 10 ingredients. Form the mixture into 4 burgers.
Heat a grill or grill pan over medium heat. Rub each burger with a bit of the oil and grill for about 8 minutes on the first side, flip and grill another 5-6 minutes. You’ll know it’s done when the juices from the burger run clear.
This dish goes well on a bed of sautéed bok choy or any other Asian greens.

Tip of the Day:

You could be on your Whole30 game all day, but getting home late while ravenous can derail everything—you’re hungry and you want something now, compliant or not. “Again, it comes down to planning and prep,” Hartwig says. “So ideally you have some emergency protein in the fridge, like chicken salad, tuna salad, or hard boiled eggs.” Then, you can just throw your protein on top of a quick salad, and voila—dinner in less than 10 minutes.
